The Ducks have done the Reading is the Goal for the past few seasons now, choosing different players to participate going to school(s) to promote reading and education encouraging elementary school children to keep on reading. The Ducks, who have won various nominations and awards with their program S.C.O.R.E. (Scholastic Curriculum of Recreation & Education)
J.S. Giguere and Todd Marchant were the Ducks to host the Reading is the Goal Day they attended Mattie Lou Maxwell Elementary School in Anaheim with their wives, Kristen Giguere and Caroline Marchant; along with Ducks staff and Wild Wing. Several students were handed out binders and various other Ducks goods to further encourage education and reading.
