Stars@Ducks

Hillsy

Dallas

Justin Pogge had was called up as a precaution due to Giguere complaining of a groin strain, but Giguere was able to suit up for the game against the Dallas Stars.
Final: Stars 4 Ducks 2

Starting Goaltender: Jonas Hiller

Jonas Hiller makes the first save on Mike Ribeiro a point blank save. Steve Ott’s shot was taken down with a glove save by Hiller. Todd Marchant falls into Dallas goaltender Marty Turco, and Marchant was assessed a two minute minor for goaltender interference. Hiller made a critical save on the Stars power play. Hiller is left to be the last line of defense again as he is the one expected as goalie to be the best on the penalty kill.
A fight right off the face off with George Parros and Krystofer Barch; Barch had the slightly better of Parros.
Jonas Hiller made two great stops, but the Stars outdo the Ducks, as James Neal attempted a whack at the puck and Loui Eriksson scores on the rebound. Marty Turco has not faced many shots, as the pressure was mainly poured on Hiller.
Hiller made an amazing save on a fast Loui Eriksson, as he goes down quickly, as he quickly put his glove hand down.
Jonas Hiller was the only player to put the most heart in the first period.
Hiller wisely hung onto the puck as he took the puck into his chest and closed his arms. He let the Ducks make a change.
Mike Brown and Francis Wathier fight as this is Wathier’s first NHL fighting major. Brown took down Watheir to the ice.
Brenden Morrow scores on a turnover from Hiller who had a wide open net. Mike Ribeiro was there to get the pass from Hiller and then gave it to teammate Brenden Morrow.
Hiller made a save on Steve Ott preventing him from putting the Stars up by three on the Ducks power play. Trevor Daley scored on the power play off of a pass from James Neal. Steve couldn’t get the puck past Hiller as he made a point blank save. Hiller covered up the puck and kept Dallas from whacking away.
James Wisniewski took away the passing lane as he blocked a pass/shot.
Ryan Getzlaf scores his first goal of the regular season right under Marty Turco’s arm. Getzlaf ended the scoring drought as the last time the Ducks scored and won at home versus the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday October 14, 2009 a 2-3 win.
Hiller has made some good saves and then Hiller was lucky, as both teams were at the side of the net and Hiller was out of his net, as he tried to keep Barch and the Stars from scoring.

The Ducks had put a heavy amount of pressure on the Stars and Turco, as they swarmed around Turco’s crease to attempt a goal but Turco sticked the puck onto the top of his net, the Ducks do not get another goal.
Bobby Ryan really likes the Spin-O-Rama move as he avoided a hit.
Joffrey Lupul scores as the puck went off of Dallas defenseman Karlis Skarastins, a great momentum with Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry. The puck was off of Lupul’s heel, kicked onto his stick, off of Skarastins and between Turco’s legs.
Hiller made a great glove save. Hiller made a right pad save as he bailed out Getzlaf on a tipped turn over. The Ducks put a lot of pressure on the Stars as the 3rd period was the only time in the game that the Ducks outshot the Stars. Ryan Getzlaf had a ninja wall put up against him, as Turco made real good glove save. Steve Ott scored on an empty net to win the game 4-2.

Really, the Ducks only played about 10 minutes of the game that actually had something to it near the end of the third period. Too late boys.

Jonas Hiller made some bad decisions which cost a goal after handling the puck behind the net. Otherwise, Hiller stood on his head and bailed the Ducks out way more than once. The other player who did well was James Wisniewski who came off a shoulder injury versus the Philadelphia Flyers.
