Wild@Ducks

Hillsy

Wild

Special Ducks feature. Joffrey Lupul has a blog he is the first Duck to have his own blog nice to get a inside look from a player. In the Loops

Starting Goalie: Jonas Hiller
Final Score: Wild 2 Ducks 3

The Ducks take on the Minnesota Wild at home after a lengthy road trip the two teams met at the Excel Energy Center in Minnesota, where the Wild stole two points, scoring two goals in just 13 minutes left in the 3rd period. In over time, Wisniewski took a bad penalty and Andrew Brunette would score to win the game for the Wild in a 2-3 final score.

On a turnover in the neutral zone, right to the Wild's zone the puck is lose and Corey Perry grabbed the loose puck which Nick Boynton tapped into the Wild's zone; Perry backhanded it past Backstorm.
Hiller corals the puck as Antti Miettinen tries to put the puck in the back of the net. Hiller closes the 5-hole as he made the point blank save.

The Ducks penalty kill is improving very much. The chemistry is gelling on the penalty kill.
Corey Perry scores again for his second goal of the game putting the Ducks 2-0; it was a wonderful pass from Brendan Mikkelson to Bobby Ryan to Corey Perry.

Evgeny Artyhukin and Shane Hindy got into a fight, where Hindy had a good reach on Arty, and Arty threw a few punches.

Hiller has improved on his 5-hole an area in which he struggled throughout this season and just in general.

Teemu Selanne set up Erik Christensen, who has a one timer, but Niklas Backstrom goes down and throws out his glove hand to stone wall Christensen. Probably his best save in the game. Hiller made a stick save on Brent Burns as the puck got through traffic it was a great last second of the period save.

Hiller made a good leg save on Mikko Koivu shooting from the side of the net.

An excellent save by Hiller as he gloves off the puck and no one was there to put in the rebound. A wrap around by James Sheppard and Hiller makes a save as he went into the butterfly to cover the entire net an excellent lateral save to prevent Sheppard of a goal.
Scott Niedermayer helps Hiller as he cradles the puck nearly in Hiller's crease and pushes it away.
Joffrey Lupul made a great attempt to get the puck to the net shorthanded.
Greg Zanon shoots from the blue line and Hiller sees it all the way the puck goes directly into Hiller's glove hand.
Kyle Brodziak got a poke on the puck as he tried to get it past the red line but Hiller was there.
Backstorm again gives Erik Christensen the wall as Teemu Selanne set him up.

Ryan Carter scores his first goal of the regular season. As George Parros puts himself in front of the net. Carter angled it past Backstorm. It was a Mike Brown to Ryan Carter pass; Parros uses his body in front of Backstorm for Carter to score.
A turn over by Luca Sbisa and poor defensive play Eric Belanger scores top shelf to put the Wild on the board.
Sheppard got into the crease Hiller is that big security man not allowing Sheppard into the club of scoring.

Ryan Getzlaf just barely gets a bad angle as the puck hit the post. Backstorm stones Saku twice on the power play

Joffrey Lupul has a brick wall set in front of him as Backstorm made a leg save on the near breakaway.

Hiller holds the back at 2:18 left in the period, sorry no goals there Minnesota. Hiller is there to stop it and the Ducks are back to Ducks hockey.

Mikko Koivu shoots it from the neutral zone Hiller is careful with that one.Brent Burns shoots it and Hiller saves the shot.

Hiller cannot handle the puck as the Wild have the extra man after pulling goaltender Niklas Backstorm. Andy Hilbert smacked away at the puck and a rebound off of Hiller. Hilberg keeps it alive and somehow manages to squeeze it under Hiller's leg. Andrew Burnette had a wide open net
